.

Well this has been an exciting week. I'm really looking forward to this project, and I'm hoping that it all comes together nicely. Me, Colin, and Evan had a long discussion on where we wanted this project to go and really started to nail down our core concepts. From most of what we've observed as far as immersion therapy in PTSD is most of the programs tend to be goal oriented, with the patient doing things such as balancing on a beam or guiding a boat through buoys. If these treatments could be broken down into one phrase for how it helps the patient my team came up with the overall theme of "regaining control". PTSD suffers are over-stimulated, and the main focus of the therapy seems to be giving the patient a goal to concentrate on so that they can get the mind in the game, so to speak.

The relaxing mood in this mapping project is made from the ambient atmosphere of the cave and sounds of dripping water into a pool created by the video.
The project was projected into a square box that was spray painted white internally after white paper became to cumbersome to tape onto the surface.
The imagery used are 3D models created in blender to create the cave and the pool of water. We used references of cave systems to make sure we nailed the look and feel, in retrospective the only visual effect I wish we added was water reflections dancing on the roof of the cave. The back of the gave is a photo put in the background to give some depth. The visual effect enhances the experience with it's soothing and calm visuals.
The sound is made by taking water dropping sounds from various sources and arranging them in a soundtrack.
My contribution to the group was providing ideas and discussion, as well as help with the visual arrangement and texturing.
